Oxford Airport offers ‘Fly-Drive’ Packages Airplane Logo

May 2010 - With the establishment of the country’s first mainstream car hire operation at a general aviation airport, London Oxford Airport is now offering a great incentive to visit Oxford and the Cotswolds for private and recreational flyers. With landing fees at just £10 (incl. VAT) at the weekend for light singles under 2.73 tonnes, indeed free with a fuel uplift of over 45 litres, you can have the use of a hire car for just £14.95 a day (incl. insurance) to explore the local area. Just pre-book, pick up the keys on landing and go. Additionally, the airport can secure great rates from some of the best hotels in the country in Oxford, Woodstock and the rest of the Cotswolds region, from just £25 for bespoke bed and breakfast to 5-Star world class spa hotels like Oxford’s Randolph, the Manoir aux Quat Saisons, voted the UK’s finest hotel for food and the Old Bank in Oxford, one of Expedia’s ‘Top Ten’.

It’s rarely been so convenient and such good value to fly away for the weekend to one of the prime tourist destinations in the UK in your own aircraft. With the new Enterprise-Rent-a-Car desk at Oxford Airport and a local fleet of hundreds of vehicles, it is actually cheaper now to hire car at the terminal than to get a taxi to and from the centre of Oxford. * To secure the OXF ‘Fly-Drive’ pricing, pilots must arrive Friday PM/Saturday AM and depart Sunday PM/Monday AM and show OXF reception their car hire reservation on arrival. All-in aircraft costs would therefore be £30 incl. VAT (cash/credit card) for the visit (parking and landing).
