Varsity Express launches scheduled flights from London Oxford Airport to Edinburgh on 1 March
January 2010 - Varsity Express www.flyvarsity.com will make its commercial debut as a new, full service regional airline operator on 1 March, 2010, offering Monday to Friday flights between London Oxford and Edinburgh Airports. Services will be operated by 18-seat British Aerospace Jetstream 31 aircraft and promotional fares on every seat go on sale today at £49 one way, including taxes and charges, through to 12 March. December 2009 - London Oxford Airport is delighted with the news that the local Silverstone race circuit has been awarded a deal to keep Formula One for up to seventeen years. This week, former World Champion Damon Hill, chairman of the British Racing Drivers Club (BRDC), and chief executive of Silverstone Circuits, Richard Phillips, confirmed Silverstone would once again host the British Grand Prix. It will also be a significant boost to the local economy, especially as the MotoGP, the motorbike equivalent to F1, will also be held at the track next year. ....more

London Oxford Airport approved for Pet Travel Scheme (PETS)
Setember 2009 - London Oxford Airport has gained DEFRA approval as only the second General Aviation/Business Aviation Airport in the UK to be approved for the importation of domestic pets. Owners of dogs, cats and ferrets can now, for the first time, transport their pets on flights into the Airport from overseas under the Pet Travel Scheme (PETS). ....more
