Raytheon Exhibits Family of Aircraft to UK MOD at Oxford Airplane Logo

August 2005:   When asked by the U.K.'s Ministry of Defence to present its range of capability for rear-crew and multi-engine training, Raytheon Aircraft Company worked with in-country Business Development Executive for Military Platforms, Nigel Guz and NAC Aviation Ltd to organise a private viewing at Oxford Airport in early August 2005.

The request was in support of the U.K. Military Flying Training System (MFTS) programme which calls for aircraft solutions to meet the U.K.'s flying training requirements for all three Services (Air Force, Navy and Army) over the next 25 years. Assembled as part of the Defence Procurement Agency's drive to achieve informed customer status, over 60 visitors attended the two-day event which included key decision makers from the MFTS and preferred-partner community. A press conference was also held with core U.K. media from Flight International, Aviation International News, Jane's Defence Weekly, Defense News, Military and Training Simulation, and Aerospace International.

The impressive product line-up included the Hawker 800XP, Hawker 400XP, Beechcraft Premier I, Beechcraft 1900 and the Beechcraft King Air B200, currently in service with the Royal Air Force. The centrepiece of the display was the Beechcraft King Air 350ER (pdf) multi-mission platform which was first unveiled at the Paris Air Show in June 2005. Primarily designed to meet the global requirements for affordable special mission duties, the platform's unique-in-class conversion for a 360-degree radar capability is fully reversible to maximise retail commercial value. enjoying almost double the radius of action of the basic 350, the ER provides the mission flexibility needed to meet the U.K.'s multi-mission training requirements for the next 25 years.
