The airport hosts a number of buildings, many originating back to the 1940s with additional structures put up in the 1960s and 1980s. Eight 'Bellman' hangars remain as the principle aviation facilities used for general hangarage of aircraft and engineering purposes. Footings remain for a further four Bellman type hangars which were either disassembled or never erected. A student accommodation block, Langford Hall, with 180 rooms was built at the entrance to the airfield in the sixties whilst a further 70 rooms exist in a block adjacent to the main operations building. The current control tower and main pilot school block was built in the late eighties. A program to refurbish a number of the hangars was initiated a number of years ago with most facilities re-clad and refurbishment of hangar doors carried out to date. The Spires Business Park is located on original airfield land at the entrance to the airfield, whilst the Langford Locks industrial and commercial business park faces the airport across Langford Lane. A considerable amount of first class warehousing and office space is available in under five minutes walk from the airport with new developments regularly being offered.
