Oxford Airport does not host any gliding clubs or schools due to the level of powered aircraft traffic we see. Certain powered gliders do fly into Oxford from time to time. However nearby, there are several alternative locations to choose from including Enstone, Bicester, Hinton-in-the-Hedges and Shenington. The nearest gliding club though is at Weston-on-the-Green airfield, 9.5 miles to our north east – the Oxford Gliding Club.
