Oxford Airport
Pleasure, Trial, Sightseeing & Experience Flights Airplane Logo

A number of aircraft operators based at Oxford Airport can undertake 20 minute or longer flights for sightseeing, pleasure, company incentives and gifts, or as a trial flight with the view to pursuing further pilot training. An ideal choice for a retirement, birthday or anniversary. Some companies offer vouchers as gifts and certificates for the recipient when they fly. New for 2010 are flights with the Avon Air Centre.

On a seasonal basis, we do see operators relocate aircraft to Oxford Airport over several weekends in the summer for sightseeing flights in the de Havilland Tiger Moth or de Havilland Rapide. Generally these will fly around the city of Oxford to view the ‘Dreaming Spires’ and will pass by Blenheim Palace on the return leg before landing. Some Fly out towards the Cotswolds region. As and when these are announced, we will place further details below. However, the operators of these aircraft can be contacted directly at either www.classicflight.com, www.brooklandsflyingclub.co.uk, or www.duxfordflying.co.uk where they might arrange one-off trips from Oxford or from their home airfields.

Many companies organise corporate reward or hospitality days from Oxford, either flying staff or clients for day trips. Within an hour’s flight from Oxford one can reach the shores of France to Deauville, Le Touquet or Dinard (St. Malo), or indeed Bruges in Belgium, for a spot of serious gastronomy and shopping. Or try a trip to Padstow (via Newquay) for a piece of Rick Stein or Jamie Oliver! – call or e-mail us for suggestions for such events. Operators of charterable, lower cost, light twin piston engined aircraft able to do such trips include Oxford-based AirMed and Oasis Flight.
