Oxford Airport
Pilot Training Airplane Logo

Oxford Airport is synonymous with pilot training.  Well over 20,000 pilots with over 80 airlines have gained their professional qualifications at Oxford.  Oxford Aviation Academy (formerly Oxford Aviation Training) is universally recognised as one of the world’s premier flight training organisations having pioneered many new approaches to professional flight training.  With a sister school in Arizona, Oxford Aviation Academy offers the best of all worlds to new pilots.

Oxford Airport’s airspace is unrestricted with an excellent weather record for aircraft training providing pilots with instrument and visual approaches. Other advantages for training operations include:

  • newly resurfaced and grooved 1552m runway
  • new approach lighting and NDB/ILS
  • unrestricted class G airspace
  • no runway slots
  • outside the congested London TMA
  • minimal noise, capacity, hours of operation or weekend restrictions

If you aspire to get your private pilot’s license or fancy moving on to be an airline pilot, a number of companies at Oxford can get you there (see below).  But first, see how easy it is to get into the air here.

Oxford Aviation Academy – (formerly Oxford Aviation Training)

Oxford Aviation Academy is one of the largest pilot schools of its type in Europe with sister operations in the USA (Arizona). Focused now solely on professional pilot training, OAA now offers additional type training through several subsidiary organisations.
