A new coach service to both Heathrow and Gatwick is available through www.theairline.info with coaches every 30 mins from Oxford from just £15.  From Oxford City centre the service takes up to 70 minutes to Heathrow, but catching the coaches at the Thornhill Park & Ride on the east side of Oxford’s ring road saves a good 15 minutes or more.

Gatwick Airport

By Train – Gatwick Railway Station is located in the South Terminal. ‘First Great Western’ run a service direct from the airport to Oxford City Railway Station. Some trains are direct but most involve a change at Reading. The journey is approximately 2 hours 15 minutes.

By Coach/Bus - Gatwick’s Coach Station is located on the ground floor of the South Terminal. The ‘Oxford Express’ Service runs from 7.00am – 23.00pm, offering a direct service to Oxford, Gloucester Green. The journey will take approximately 2 hours.

By Car – Take the M27 and join the M25 Heathrow. Join M40 Oxford and leave at Junction 9 (Oxford, Blenheim Palace, A34). Take the A34, leave at Kidlington turn-off. Follow road to bottom, bear left at roundabout. Turn right at 1st set of traffic lights (next to Harvester restaurant) and follow road to end. Turn right at traffic lights and follow road for half a mile. Oxford Airport is signposted to your left.

A taxi from Gatwick to Oxford will cost you approximately £125.00


Heathrow Airport

By Train – The Reading Air Bus Link runs from all Heathrow terminals on average every 20 minutes. The bus takes you to Reading station and connects with the train in to Oxford.

By Coach/Bus – The ‘Oxford Express’ runs from Heathrow’s Central Bus Station every half hour throughout the day and night. This service will bring you directly to Oxford’s Central Bus Depot, Gloucester Green. The journey will take approximately 1 hour 10 minutes.

London Luton Airport

By Train – Take the train from Luton Airport Parkway to Farringdon Thameslink. You will then need to take the underground to Paddington Station, where you can catch a direct train to Oxford City Station. The total journey will take approximately 2.5 hours.

By Coach/Bus – The coach pick up point is situated in front of the terminal building. ‘Jetlink’ operate a direct service from Luton Airport to Oxford, Gloucester Green. However, some journey’s may involve a change at either Hemel Hempstead or Heathrow. The journey will take approximately 3-4 hours.

The cost of a single ticket from Luton – Oxford is £29.00. However, journeys that require a change at Hemel Hempstead are £10.00

By Train – There is a direct train from Birmingham International Station to Oxford City. It departs at 13 minutes past the hour throughout the day & night. The journey takes approximately 1 hour.

London Stansted Airport

By Train – The airport railway station is situated below the terminal. Catch the ‘Stansted Express’ into Liverpool Street Station. Then take the underground (tube) to Paddington Station, where you can catch a direct train into Oxford City Station. The entire journey will take approximately 3 hours.

The cost of a single ticket from Stansted – Oxford is approximately £27.30

Getting here from Oxford City Railway Station

By Bus – London Oxford Airport runs its own minibus service to and from the train station, to coincide with the new scheduled airline services at the airport, see here for schedule details or advanced booking. This is up to half the cost of a typical taxi service for one person.

Alternatively there are ‘Oxford Bus Company’ services2, 2A, 2B, 2C and 2D from outside the Debenhams & Tesco stores on Magdalen Street (Bus stop C1), running every 30 minutes at peak hours only. These services will take you directly to Oxford Airport. The journey will take approximately 30 - 40 minutes and a single ticket will typically cost you a couple of pounds. Please check schedules carefully in advance of your journey on the Oxford Bus Company website.

The walk however from the city train station to the 'C1' bus stop for the Oxford Bus Company services will take about 10 minutes.

By Taxi – A taxi from Oxford Station to Oxford Airport will cost you approximately £15-20 and take 15 to 20 minutes. Taxi’s are readily available from outside the station.

Getting here From Oxford City Bus Station

By Bus – Gloucester Green Bus Terminal is situated in the heart of Oxford City. You will need to walk out of the main entrance on to George Street. Turn left and then left again on to Magdalen Street and there is a bus stop, C1, 1 minute walk up the road, next to Debenhams and the Tesco Express store. From this bus stop you can catch the ‘Oxford Bus Company’ service 2, 2A, 2B, 2C 2D. These services will take you directly to Oxford Airport. The journey will take approximately 30 - 40 minutes and a single ticket will cost you a couple of pounds. Please check schedules carefully in advance on the Oxford Bus Company website.

Returning to Oxford city from the airport, if your journey coincides with the timings of our scheduled airline services, you could catch the city-bound Oxford Airport Shuttle minibus direct from the terminal and ask the driver to drop you off near the bus station. By Taxi – A taxi rank is located outside the Odeon Cinema, Gloucester Green. A taxi to Oxford Airport will cost you approximately £15-20 and take 15 to 20 minutes.
