London Oxford Airport has on occasion a broad choice of hangars for lease or shared use and will build new facilities to suit any given demand with typically a year’s lead-time. The airport is currently expanding the northern zone of the main built-up site where the first of a number of new larger facilities is being constructed – see video. Hangarage can take aircraft up to Boeing BBJ sized aircraft. Tenancy tends to be fairly dynamic and as such it is best to enquire about availability of space dependent on aircraft size. Most facilities are heated, insulated, have high lux lighting and a degree of natural light through transparencies in the doors or the roofs and vary from typical 16,800 sq.ft. 1940s ‘Bellman’-type hangars to new 21,000 sq.ft. bays. The new 63,000 sq.ft. hangar facility for completion late 2021 will be two bays.
New offices can be built utilising modular solutions in a relatively short timeframe – 3-4 months is typical, to meet most requirements.
Facilities at the airport can be broadly split into those that are 100% landside (suitable for any business), those 100% airside (really only suitable for aviation-related businesses) and those with both airside and landside access. Strict security protocols apply to any buildings with airside access, so might be constraining for a non-aviation business, on the other hand the strict access protocols might suit a security-conscious business.

- One 760 sq.ft. space divided into two rooms and an entrance lobby – can be modified to suit. 1940s structure, but refurbished with double-glazed windows. Close to the main terminal.
Property availability with 100% Airside Access
- Potential half 1940’s Bellman hangar bay, circa 10,000 sq.ft. for lease (currently shared use/aircraft storage), minimal offices – needs refurbishment
- Miscellaneous offices adjacent to hangars with individual sizes from 150 sq.ft. or collectively up to 3,000 sq.ft.
Property availability with both Landside and Airside access
- Potential recent build larger hangar facility, circa 18,500 sq.ft. for lease (currently shared use/aircraft storage), no offices but separate, associated building in corner (circa 2,000 sq.ft. floor space) could potentially be converted into stores/workshops/offices on two levels
